Point of order:
Never heard once a person saying gay marriage was a slippery slope, that was the end of the slope. Only argument I heard was that the term "marriage" was a religious joining of a couple before their god, so thereby calling gay people living together marriage instead of civil unions or whatever, all you've done is tear down any religious aspect of marriage. Our secular society has decided that is the way to go, so that has been done, that ship sailed and really the slope has hit the bottom of the canyon. Now you can (in some states) "marry" anything you want, sexes, species be darned.

In one sentence, asks the govt what THEY are doing to allow smaller airlines grow and take on the larger airlines........

Next sentence, wish the federal govt would get out of the way and let us merge and become a big airline.....

This isn’t supposed to me a gay marriage discussion. But yes, “slippery slope” argument was and has been used against gay marriage. If you don’t remember people saying “if you can marry a man, then what stops people from marrying a dog or their horse?” It was made many times in the attempt to squash marriage for anything other than man and woman.

Nobody cares your take on gay marriage or my take, that wasn’t my point. The point was Mayor Pete using an inaccurate slippery slope argument (that approving the 5th largest airline would leave people with 2 airlines) is as ridiculous as saying if a state allows two humans to marry, it can turn to a person marrying an animal.

This isn’t about gay marriage. This is about a man making a false equivalence.

so, with the impending government shut down, looks like it might be taking a little bit longer to wear the blue shirt.

what are you guys think a realistic scenario is going forward?

trial delayed till November? finish the trial at the end of November maybe not because of Thanksgiving then it gets pushed back into the early part of December?

judge sides with the Jetblue merger, and all is good?

or big chance it gets pushed back further into December? then, if that’s the case doesn’t that void the merger? because we have a time limit of before the end of the year.

Nobody on this site gives a hoot about what is happening at a corporate level. Pick whatever word you want, but to you and me the process and the outcome is the same.
