Ironic coming from a guy flying for the largest airline in the world, approved by, the US Government.
If JBLU/NK is going to be too big, then they should break up the large legacy carriers, "Big Oil" style. Because if the new JBLU is a threat to the consumer, what do you call AA? It's ridiculous when I taxi around DFW and every tail is AA, and ATL with DAL, IAH with UAL...etc etc etc.

don’t worry about it. It’s all done. They’ll go to court, shake their fists and allow it to proceed.

"Exhibit A Your Honor; two rows of NK seats and 2 rows of JBLU seats. Do you see how much room JBLU gives passengers to ensure a quality product and experience? Now look at NK seats. So bad their pilots wont even take $300/hr to sit in them while deadheading." So we are asking for more of the crap NK seats and to not allow them to be comfortable seats. The Government rests, All Hail Sleepy Joe"

And if this really is an AA guy arguing to stop the merger....holy ******* that's super rich! Dripping in hypocrisy.

I'm all for supporting the commuters but not at the expense of my ability to hold 1-2 day trips
Being home nearly every night has made this a completely different job and to be honest I just don't miss most of our layovers. Like at all.
After I set the parking brake I pack up my stuff and head home in my own car. I don't have to share a hotel shuttle with pax asking me loads of stupid questions ("my neighbor's cousin's barber is thinking about going to flight school") or listen to FAs b*tch and complain because they had to do their job that day.
I just don't care about any of that and would rather avoid it entirely. My state of mind has been infinitely better since we made the change last year.

You still go to in from work on a trip. I’d just rather sit in traffic in my own car with me behind the wheel going to sleep at home than sit in traffic in the back of a car with some idiot driving like they got they’re license yesterday, to sleep in a hotel bed.

And yeah, I know, commuting is a choice, but in my base about 65% of the pilots ARE commuters. There is no good reason we can’t have a healthy mix of trips that people can use to bid schedules that work for them with adequate reserves or premium pay to cover the people who can’t cover their trips for whatever reason, no jump seat space, COVID, weather, or whatever.

When I did live in base I preferred 2-3 day trips. Day trips with all the driving in traffic, parking, train/shuttle from parking to the airport, etc, it all felt like a 9-5 job, in the worst possible way.
