Got it thanks! Yes, that makes sense, get some guarantees from Robin Hayes and we will support!

Essentially our contention isn’t with the idea of a merger or with your union, rather how committed B6 management is to see NK pilots as current B6 pilots or will they foment division and unequal treatment as a union busting tactic.

So the MEC wants a B6 snap-up before the merger has been approved by the judge/DOJ?

That’s exactly what the spirit mec is after. Pay rate parity now outside of a JCBA.

And B6 get a NK "Green grid rules" and 4-days off between trips snap up? 😂

Right now we are two separate airlines under two separate CBAs. My understanding is that Spirit MEC wants a commitment from JB on pay parity ONCE the merger is approved.

Makes sense to me. You want NK pilots to be invested in this merger, then you need to invest in the NK pilots.

If Robin immediately gave NK pilots B6 rates, many of you would be the first to say you had the superior CBA going into JCBA and seniority list integration arguments because of your other QOL provisions. How would that be fair to B6 pilots?

Not expecting you guys to care, but at least understand why the other side might not be crazy about this idea.

Seems the energy could be better spent working on an expeditious JCBA for everyone. But we are all entitled to our own opinions, and I'm not looking for a fight, just to say my piece, which I have now done.

and I’m not looking for a fight either, but the psychology might play out a different way as well. I would assume B6 pilots are wanting pay improvements in the JCBA too, since you were also just looking for a bridge to the JCBA. Realize that if you leave NK pilots at their current rates, whatever rates B6 management DOES eventually offer will be more tempting for NK pilots because it will be a bigger raise for them. It might tend to make them more inclined to vote for an offer that is less than the B6 pilots would hold out for, undercutting the ‘no’ vote that might otherwise occur.

I can think of no greater gift to B6 management than pitting the two pilot groups against one another. Worrying about SLI issues before the JCBA is even signed is really putting the cart before the horse, IMHO.
