Default Not atp rated hiring?

Quick question……I’ve heard of multiple candidates getting hired without a R-ATP and just their atp/ctp and written done. Any confirmation? I’m willing to pay for my own atp ctp course to get a job with Spirit, but what guarantee would I have from Spirit that I would get considered for an interview after completing the atp/ctp course? Or is it just a gamble? Thanks.

Without an ATP if you apply via the website you’ll never get called so best bet would be to attend an MTC event and prep well. I’ve heard of a few new hires going straight from 172’s into an A320 so it’s definitely not out of the realm of possibilities.

Goodluck.

I’ve been told there is a Spirit hiring page on Facebook that regularly posts the info on meet the chiefs events, typically in a Spirit pilot domicile but occasionally other cities as well, alternatively you can email [email protected] and get the info.

don’t think I’ve heard of any ratp candidates getting through. Everyone with the written done has been a full atp candidate. That said you won’t receive any guarantees from spirit and depending who you talk to to request a mtc invite they may not even offer you the invite without the written done. They have definitely hired nonatp but only once you’ve qualified for the atp. Don’t be surprised if they don’t give you the time of day till then. It’s a risk. But honestly letting another airline pay for atp ctp also isn’t that great. You’re better off just doing it on your own.

Lots of people get hired with just the ATPCTP done. There was 6 at my interview that all got a CJO with no ATP without going to an event. Thing’s definitely are different now that regionals have updated the standard pay.

Out of curiosity how you did you get invited to the interview? If you apply online, the only way to get through is if you select that you do have an atp certificate, pretty much lying about it. If you select you don’t have it, they won’t even consider you.

You have to qualify to get an unrestricted ATP with your A320 type rating. There's no r-ATP
