I think it has more to do with airport user costs than anything.
Which is the exact reason they said they avoided MIA for years, fees. So how does MIA just raise fees to unsustainable levels for NK, a year in? Is there no “contract” or specified fees? Or did our management essentially dig in deep at an airport known for high fees, with an adjustable rate.

I was told AAmerican took them from us.

My thought as well. Putting all this effort into the takeover company's bargaining chip. Not that i think a newark play is bad as a standalone, but for crews if and when ACY is shut down, there will be no room for us in ewr. Add 100 commuters to the list.

A Newark base would probably be larger than ACY; along the lines of ATL or IAH with 80-100 pilot crews. ACY is currentlly like 50.

I also think JB could wind up keeping most of the EWR slots, especially if they agree to dissolve the NEA. Under the premise that it would prevent more slots from going to UA, which is already an ultra-monopoly there.

I understand EWR to be very senior on the B6 side, and id guess someone like Breeze or Avelo gets the slots before they'd let B6 keep them.

05/23 junior captain is 01/16 hire, approximately 57%
05/23 junior FO is 06/22 hire

12/23 junior captain is 07/16 hire
12/23 junior FO is a new hire

Is that 57% in seat? Looks like EWR is a couple of years senior relative ACY based on that.
