Default Biden Administration Moving to Block Merger

https://www.reuters.com/business/aer...co-2023-02-10/

Is this just a way to eliminate NEA or a legitimate threat?

Robin has said from the beginning that he thought DOJ will try to block it.

Did people really expect this to get through without them filing a lawsuit?

Look at how they’ve handled every other merger so far during this administration.

It’s all virtue signaling and an act so they can say “he’s a man for the people.”

100% expected. JBLU has their team primed and ready for this, I’m sure.

NEA decision comes out soon and maybe it gets traded for the merger, if JBLU wins, or maybe Robin puts his marbles on the table and says “we want the NEA and the merger” and let’s his team go at it.

In the end, the DOJ and its administration is a joke and they are simply spitting spit balls against the glass, hoping something will stick.

Worst case, it gets held up in court until Uncle Joe is taken to the old folks home and allowed to eat his checker pieces in peace.

I expect Spirit management is doing the bare minimum to put up appearances while not-so-secretly hoping that the Merger gets blocked so they can run back to the arms of Frontier.

Just to have that one blocked too? If JB gets blocked then Frontier would also. Which is fine with me. Didn’t really want to be JB but definitely don’t want to be frontier.

The executive’s buyouts are greater with JB than Frontier. They want to get theirs and move on. Pretty clear to tell with how they are running this airline right now.

Seriously? Reuters reporting on what Politico was guessing about? While it indeed MAY happen, that’s coming with less authority than a ramper telling you something he’d heard two FAs talking about hearing from a passenger on their flight during his ride on the bus from the employee lot,

The noise to signal ra5io there is sort of huge.
