I did stress about my schedule conflicts when I was a junior line holder and needed to drop a trip to get time off for something important here at a legacy. There wasnt as much stress at spirit in those types of situations. Now that's really not an issue anymore. I really do miss the ability to fly at 200% a ton. I'm not sure how sustainable that is going forward though. I mean 140-160 hours month after month was excessive.

I left NK for a legacy a few years back in the middle of 2021. I was 50%-ish in base. The only thing I miss about NK was the drop ability accompanied by their ridiculous premium pick ups with the x list. I could consistently credit a ton when I lived in base. As a commuter I couldnt really get much that worked with my commute. Once I was senior enough I got most of the trips that I wanted and never really dropped or swapped unless I wanted to fly a ton at 200%. Now at a legacy, I bid about the same percentage and get all the days off I need. There isn't as much premium at the moment so I don't have a need to drop and swap all sorts of stuff around and wait for a premium trip to pop up.

I hate to be blunt but you're going to merge what will be 3500 pilots into a group of 5500 pilots who have never had this benefit. Besides the fact, and I outlined the challenges earlier, that this is a non-standard industry practice--almost impossible to argue for with arbiters if the company is dead set against it. B6 currently has drop to 70. NK drop to 0. Do I see a compromise to where maybe we can get drop to 50? Maybe. But I would have ZERO expectation that DTZ will survive. Zero. There are way too many areas we need to plus up like PS, 401k contributions, PTO/VPTO, insurance, retirement, pairing construction, etc etc. If there are NK pilots who are willing to die on the hill of DTZ, I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.
Nice try though using derogatory language to try and lessen the value of the said benefit, management troll.

January and February are not a good indicators of grid efficacy, normally due to the lack of opentime. Remember opentime is the other side of the equation. To many handcuffs on opentime will no doubt hurt trade/drop ability. No out of domicile, no res, no split, credit fences all need to be removed. Time fences will protect domicile lineholders with all of those provisions. Trip split does have the most downside of those provisions. It does prevent company from building domicile layovers.

NK guide to success:
Step 1. Screw over your reserves with drop to zero.
Step 2. Always vote in terrible contracts that drag down the profession to protect this ability.
Step 3. Drop your whole schedule without pay.
Step 4. ????
Step 5. Profit.
