They can make Christmas Day a red day if they choose. 75% of the grid must be green at the start of open time. The 25% that usual start out of the gate tend to be weekends and holidays but no more than 25% of the days can be red at the start

His question was directed at an F9 pilot, not NK.

Drops are based on the number of OT trips touching that day. You can drop 12/25 if you’re quick when drops open or if you’re in a base where OT doesn’t sit around. I dropped Christmas Eve, NYE and New Year’s Day.

Bluedriver, you don't get it. Drop to zero is magic, you see. Nobody ever flies at NK. Everyone looks at their terrible compensation, decide its not worth coming to work, then just drop to zero and get a second job.
How is the flying staffed? I honestly don't know because no one loses with ddop to zero.

I hate to be blunt but you're going to merge what will be 3500 pilots into a group of 5500 pilots who have never had this benefit. Besides the fact, and I outlined the challenges earlier, that this is a non-standard industry practice--almost impossible to argue for with arbiters if the company is dead set against it. B6 currently has drop to 70. NK drop to 0. Do I see a compromise to where maybe we can get drop to 50? Maybe. But I would have ZERO expectation that DTZ will survive. Zero. There are way too many areas we need to plus up like PS, 401k contributions, PTO/VPTO, insurance, retirement, pairing construction, etc etc. If there are NK pilots who are willing to die on the hill of DTZ, I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.

Who cares if it’s not industry standard? Is the pension at FedEx industry standard? No. Are they going to give it up because it’s not industry standard? No. STD/LTD at Delta standard? Are they going to concede it? Again… No.

I think there is a lot of leverage, but it's not without limits. The leverage will be ALL of ours at that point, not just B6s. And it's not just $$. Most of my list affects QOL issues, not $.
