At the least, a NO would have given us the reasonable ability to voice merger opposition to the DOJ and muddy the waters.
Now I understand your motivation. You don’t want JetBlue….

Correct me if wrong, but doesn't each MEC have to vote yes to a JCBA?

MECs and pilot groups vote on JCBA.

You can lift gear for me at Delta, my brother. Would be nice to have two doctors up front.

We had nothing to offer with the 2018 contract. Muddy the waters? Maybe. But probably just would’ve had muddy waters and no real impact. Again, let’s focus on TPA and JCBA.

You don't have to worry about dropping to 0. I'll bet a bottle of Blanton bourbon that this is going away, no matter how you guys voted. It will be sacrificed on the alter for PS, increased PTO/VPTO, etc. Dropping to 0 is industry non-standard. We had industry non-standard stuff when we negotiated our first CBA like getting paid for PTO sellback each month. That was a great deal and offered lots of flexibility but our union told us it was chopped because it would be hard to justify since it was an outlier in the industry. You guys have leverage because you still have a vote. We will have the most leverage we'll have in our career because our CBA requires a JCBA for the company to enjoy the benefits of the combined companies. The key is to have solid communication and make sure our combined NC and MEC don't settle.

Not sure what your perception of the NK pilot group is like, but just be warned...we sell ourselves short.

It's nothing terrible, but don't expect anything crazy good from our MEC. It will be a very average a$$ "but the company says" kinda deal, despite whatever kind of leverage we are believed to posses.

Honestly the best thing we have going into the JCBA is B6 pilots outnumbering us.

We are not much different, my friend. Big key will be is for NK to realize they're not in the ULCC world anymore. B6 guys are still climbing that ladder of respectability as well. Getting closer but still not there. We need to stop selling ourselves short. Our combine airline will be almost 9000 strong by the time we merge. We'll have a handful of European cities we fly to. Possibly Hawaii. A large and diverse network. We need to know, understand and appreciate our true value. We'll be in a good place when the JCBA negotiations come around. The company for the first time ever will not want to draw out these negotiations.
