Because if you don’t accept this we will be literally on the bottom for the next 12 months maybe longer. You all talk about retention, well this will make it worse as the new guys will see that our fellow colleagues are screwing them over for their own benefit. Why would a new guy now come for $60 an hour when even the regionals pay higher?

It’s a balance dude… paying people to stay is far more important than paying people to show up if you’re part of this pilot group. 100 + first year with benefits day 1 and CA pay around 300 plus is the contract you want. I want new hires to get what they deserve but no at the expense of those who have actually put in the work here.
If they can replace the departing people with FOs at LESS THAN REGIONAL FO PRICES they have no reason to worry about attrition. It isn’t like there is significant attrition of line holding CAs. If it cost more to replace the guys leaving they would pay more to keep them, forcing the whole payscale up.

And Spirit, with a two year limited agreement, will have at least one and likely two more bites at the apple before the other contracts being negotiated today have their next opening.

Probably so but with little to no bargaining power because we will give the company what they need in this ta

I know you know better. The most crappy thing one can do is give half truth. It's what the media is all about these days, and it helps no one (other than the agenda of the one giving the info)

Everyone you listed, except Frontier, are currently in negotiations to get better rates (and you know this), but yet you still choose to compare your NEW AIP rates to old rates of other companies.

Genuine question, Why do you choose to do this?

There’s no guarantee that those companies will even have new contracts by the time we get our second bite of the Apple

There's a college word for us. I had to look that one up.

We shall see. If the TA fails, we will send them back in to get the change left on the table they forgot to ask about.

AA, WN, and JetBlue are getting new contracts. It’s on par with 5+ year old deals.

From a few FO's on both LAS and ORD chat board, its apparent, as they are vocal ALL DAY about this, they see the small pay raise as "must vote yes else will never see this again" mindset. If they would take off their Spirit Cheerleader outfits, and realize there is more to this TA than a low pay raise compared to others.........
Same guys last round that probably only looked at pay, and hit YES vote (neglecting all other stuff in the CBA/TA).
