I believe quite a few did, myself included. But, yes that was the goal at the beginning, then Alaska came through with theirs and changed things. I and most people I know contacted our reps and wanted to make it known that the Alaska TA changes things and we expected to be at or near Alaska (at the very worst inside $10hr, both seats years 1-12). in some areas we are $25-$30hr behind Alaska. In reality we should be comparing ourselves to Alaska just like UAL compares themselves to DAL. Even the lousy UAL MEC sent out a message to their pilots on 12/5 saying they are directing their NC to withdraw their proposal due to DAL AIP. But we kept plowing forward with the original JB + a few bucks when Alaska got theirs. Hopefully that filled in the blanks for you. Just because you didn't speak up doesn't mean many of us didn't.
Pilot contracts are alot like single family homes... If your neighbor down the street with similar sq ft, floor plan sells his home for $200k 2 weeks ago that now becomes a "sales comp" but the sales comp before that was 2 months ago that sold at $180k, you are wanting to use the $200k comp to put your house on the market, not the $180k it really is the same. The market changes quickly once a new sales comp comes in or in our case a TA gets ratified.

on another note… why are most of the gains not realized until 2024?
To me that makes this thing a joke. Unless you are on year one pay or year 12 pay you’ll be waiting until 2024 to see any benefit.

[QUOTE=Lincoln Osiris;3548204]Better to do that then to make ourselves look like fools and sell out the rest of our peers. There is more on than the line than just us. Something you have yet to learn but you will. Didn't I tell you to go study for your OE?[/QUOTE
I look like more of a fool when I can’t afford to send the kids to camp, buy clothes or shopping etc because you think that other people care about our pay rate.

Yeah, I think Mesa still pays more 1st year. This TA doesn’t seem like it will help

Solid TA when you take everything into consideration and the scenario that faces us.
The company will not come back to the table as fast as some think, just realistically. Especially the blowhards talking about "cleaning house". How long do you think it takes to go through all that, then do more surveys (so the new negotiating committee isn't flying blind) and then schedule sessions, back and forth, more road shows, voting, etc.
Meanwhile you are losing out on thousands per month. Opportunity cost. Yea, you could probably squeeze out a few dollars more. Is it worth the time and the lost money?
Don't forget, the government takes half of any extra money you get by turning this down (income tax). An extra $10 per hour is more like an extra $5 per hour.
I thank the negotiating committee for their work and I trust them a hell of a lot more than the clowns on this message board beating their chests to make up for some very fragile egos.

I think management is anticipating a world where all they are going to get is 1500 hour wet ATPs. NK will be a stepping stone to build a resume that will get many if not most of their FOs to the legacies. If they can’t keep enough senior FOs long enough to meet their needs for CAs they will - like many regionals are doing now - put some real money into raising CA pay but until then they are tossing the most money at the year groups they are most having problems with. They are patching leaks now rather than attempting anything comprehensive. Indeed, until they sort out how DOJ is going to handle the JetBlue acquisition, they probably can’t even plan for their own careers far less long term planning for an airline that may or may not be being managed by JetBlue management in 24 months.

Yes. Might as well make more money without giving anything up while they figure out this won’t work. They’ll be back.

There were only 73 new hires in November. They were getting 90+ before.
