Many have only been in this industry long enough to see a negotiation start and then just finish in a couple months with raises. So many new guys I fly with were so confident we would have a great deal any day.

You really have to read the details it says that if the Jetblue deal falls through we immediately go back to contract negotiations.

I think the intent of this TA is to bring us to JetBlue or a little bit better than JetBlue rates, Until the Jetblue/ Spirit pilot integration is complete.

let’s please have a realistic understanding of what this TA is about and be appreciative of its intent.

blah blah blah. This TA is a load of crap. The end

Waiting for a better deal in a few months or agreeing to be at the bottom for years?? It is an easy easy easy choice……DEFINITELY A NO VOTE.
so again you clearly don’t understand the TA, if the Jetblue deal falls through we go back to negotiating immediately!

The ignorance around here!!!

How do you think that negotiation is going to play out with the ability to move first year pay up nearly 50% without taking the rest of us up in the process. It will be years. There won’t be a go back to the table w spirit and have a TA in a month or two. I will be forever and they will announce a frontier merger. Both groups will have the first year pay mover in their respective contracts and game over. JCBA over there will be a decade as they add in more cadet programs. We have to get it now while we have the leverage just in case JetBlue doesn’t happen

Going back to negotiating immediately doesn’t guarantee a new CBA anything approaching immediately. It just guarantees one or more negotiators will show up. The actual AGREEMENT could take years. But that’s ALWAYS the case. The only real leverage is if a Merger happens and JetBlue needs the JCBA or if the dearth of pilots remains so bad they are still being eaten alive by attrition.

I think they can always lower hiring standards enough to put butts in classes. It’s the attrition in FOS and junior(that is non lineholders) CAs that will kill them. Especially once they lower standards to where zero 121 time newbies will be leaving before even becoming CA eligible like is currently the case in the regionals.

We have to get it now. Taking this **** sandwich thinking oh we’ll get them next time if JetBlue doesn’t happen or oh this is just temporary and we’ll let JetBlue bring us up is both a fools errand and disrespectful to the JetBlue pilots

But my only point was for your statement to be true it assumes JB doesn't TA pay increase prior to the JCBA. Which is likely not true. Of course you never know.
My assumption is this gets voted in, JBLU gets a short deal, and next year we see a TPA which brings us both up higher and probably to the same, and then we go into the JCBA together for more money again.

Reality is we won’t probably even see DOS+1 rates to completion at Spirit because we will be running into the TPA with JBLU.

Oh, “I’m so mad!!!! Errrrrrrr, angry!” (Have to show I’m with the angry cool kids on here)

A TPA usually has nothing to do with pay.

The 220 isn’t. They posted -100 rates… we don’t have 100’s.
