Nope.
Extend your range to 2ish hours and that opens up Southern Utah as a possibility. St. George is exactly 2hrs from the airport. Meets everything but the 100+ degrees in the summer, it’s generally 5-7 degrees cooler here than Vegas.
2.5 hours puts you in the hills above St. George with your choice of 4000ft to 6500ft of elevation and plenty cool in the summer.

Not really.
Anything 1.5 hours away will still be in the Mojave. So the same climate. Nevada public schools are not good. However, if you can swing it, the private schools are Great. The best bet is to live in vegas: low taxes and affordable real estate. Summers are hot, but it's only bad for about 3-4 months. Everything is air-conditioned. There are many things to do inside, and most parks have bright lights at night.
