Default Spirit Dropping 37 Routes

Spirit Airlines is cutting 37 routes from its network
with far-reaching changes that affect many airports
nationwide and in Latin America.

For the couple on here who pretend like Spirit attrition isn’t a problem.

Spirit management has to raise pay immediately.

And they have underutilization of current aircraft with more new aircraft inbound. Of course attrition is a problem.

Default Numbers

How many of us are just waiting to see if the proposed rates will be a slap in the face? Too small of a number and we might expect huge influx of resignations.

Spirit drops routes all the time, it's called seasonal. MYR went from 25+ a day down to 7. Season's over. MYR will go back up when the season returns.

I would argue there's a bit more at play here though. Utilization is down due to staffing (not unique to Spirit). Just on the news today as well is Disney is slowing down and talking potential layoffs. This focus on Florida might just not pay off if leisure travel drops off, which in a recession historically happens.

I feel like we're on a rudderless ship yall. A VERY quiet C suite.

If that were the case, they wouldn't call it a 5 percent capacity cut.

it’ll be pretty cool to get a pay raise during a recession…

If the stupid pilots here could just see if we would give the company immediate relief on first year pay via an LOA, we would vastly improve our negotiating capital. Maybe we could call it a quid. Punishing the newbies for our failures in the last contract is something easily recitified.
