Even with the 18 hour trigger this contract, I’ve noticed my short stay overnights exceeding long stay. Basically they are working us more and will continue as we add dots.

Hopefully at least the day trips will pay higher credit with increased utilization. But I’m expecting 3-4 leg days with that. LAS guys will get punished with that west coast hop crap.
Soooo, we are becoming Southwest without the pay, rigs, days off, and other such blather….. great!

I love turns and two days especially but this will lead to more bases. More bases means less flexibility. A few massive bases are best for flexibility for all unless you commute from a city that will be a new base then it’s great for those people
dont forget we have 3 days too

Very very few multi day trips are rigged for TAFB and that’s the only way they could pay MORE than a day trip.
Edit for the less and more clarification

Who wants to do those? Too long for an in baser. Too short to have blocks of days off for the commuter except for the dreaded back to back three day. That’s like airline pilot hell

I’m personally quite excited I won’t have to wait 10 or 15 more years to hold all two day flying or a mix of one and two day

I never said that I liked to do that...but I actually do like 3 day trips. I was just saying dont forget take them into account.

anyways.

Does anybody know how many senior daddies we have in DFW or Florida that commute from the Atlanta area currently?

And if somebody could insert the best picture of what they think a “senior daddy” looks like that would help.

Don’t know if it’s good or bad for you guys, but you’re about to get huge influx of Allegiant new hires, and pilots who are looking for this, and/or were looking at G4, for “Home Every Night”. So, your attrition is about to be abated somewhat imo. Your company would be smart to prioritize G4 pilots in order to hobble a competitor ULCC.

so we’re gonna get like Appleton, flagstaff and Fargo base pilots tripping over them selves to comes to Spirit just so they can not live in base anymore AND just to have a less chance of a 4 day trip in their new base of ATL, ACY or MIA???

Looking forward to 0515 shows, 5.5 hrs block, 3+ hour sits in MCO, AUS, RSW, 11hr domicile rest. Or the reverse. Day sleep in domicile 4 to 5 days in a row.

But hey, look how much the company is going to save on hotel expense. They just pass that expense to the pilot to enhance the "career".
