You have 45 days to make the initial COBRA payment. This may have changed temporarily due to covid, but that will go away. The payment could be more than your training salary at Spirit. If you are on day 44 and get hit by a car walking to Publix during training and your spouse is late to get the payment in, you’re hosed. There’s no excuse for leaving our new hires flapping in the wind.

Spirit has an absolutely terrible setup that could easily medically bankrupt people.

It is a terrible setup that could easily medically bankrupt people.

How is that a lie? Sure cobra exists but coming up with $7000 on the drop of a hat to activate cobra in month 3 is nerve wracking. All I said was it was scary so stop trying to misrepresent things.
it sucks and it’s stupid we “professionals” go without company sponsored health care. You can Stockholm syndrome this if you want but between that and **** pay things are difficult here the first year.
