Recently added a new ftd, getting another. Two new sims by end of the year. Yes upgrades have dropped, was planned at around 40 per month after Jan. 1. New hires at 80 a month I don't believe that many are showing up. Company has a need to go 100+ but the training infrastructure can't meet that demand, supposedly.

If we are reaching a limit on training slots, my guess is upgrades are going to suffer to allow more new hires because of attrition. 24 new airplanes this year and 33 next year? What is our average crew per airplane now 15 - 17 pilots per?

Considering you work here and know the footprint I don’t think it needs much elaboration. Quick and dirty isn’t a dig at our training at all I’m just saying if you don’t put the effort in and work hard it can be a struggle for some. I’m fact I thought my instructors in the FTD and the SIM were phenomenal. They really know their stuff and the Airbus.

Whats with the lowering of captain vacancies then? Is it a matter of NK not having enough FOs to staff the right seat so they are limiting upgrades?

And? Our training isnt the quick and dirty it was over 6+ years ago. AQP changes the old footprint anyways. The company has and always will adapt training to get pilots on the line. This isnt some revolutionary idea. If more training is needed for "slow learners," im sure they will get it. Fun part is cleaning up the mess once the "slow learners" hit the line.
