what kind of details and times did they want? Just got an MTC invite and wondering if I need to bring a printout or summary of my hours, along with my résumé. My new digital logbook is great but the iPhone app doesn’t have many features for hour breakdowns like their desktop app.

Not at all. They wanted to know how much TT, TPIC, previous jobs, and any training failures. You do not need your logbook or any proof of times. I’m not sure anyone knows what they’re looking for qualification wise. A good looking resume with all that information was all that was needed. They have a prefilled sheet of paper with questions to go over and write the answers down. Seems like most were around 10-15 minutes maximum. Hopefully you hit the spot on what they’re looking for. Good luck.

The best way I was told to answer the why portion is they want to here what attracts you to spirit not a bunch of jibberish about why spirits a good company from a market stand point or against its competitors. Tell them why spirit works for you.

I laugh at guys who think the company is going to come rushing to the union wanting to give us all a pay raise.
The company clearly doesn’t care if they can be this selective.
and those pilots clear don’t remember last contract negotiations.

I think they are being selective, but not the way we think. They don’t want people super qualified right now, they won’t stick around past the summertime most likely. Nor do I blame them. Think fall 2017 all over again.

Sometimes decent and qualified people just don’t interview well, or have a bad day.
I’m not talking specifically about people who have posted their experiences here (sorry it didn’t go well), but sometimes “I promise I’m not looking to just get a 320 type rating and move on..” sounds exactly like: “I just want some 320 time so I can move on”.
Sometimes describing a bad mark or training flub that really wasn’t a big deal can come off as sounding like “It wasn’t my fault, I was not wrong, the guy was out to bust me” even if that’s not how it sounded in your head.
I only bring this up not to trash the guys who didn’t make it, but just to illustrate how even good candidates can get in the way of themselves in an interview. Spirit has a notoriously relaxed interview, so you rarely hear about people doing some sort of interview prep for it, but if there is something on your record, or even if you are a bit shaky on verbalizing “Why Spirit?” then it definitely would be a good idea to speak with someone impartial and get an opinion on how your answers come off.
Best of luck to everyone

What do you mean super qualified?? Lol FOs at regionals are making the leap to the legacies.. if you have any recent training mishaps that’s usually a red flag. Our training is quick and dirty. They need pilots who can survive that.

They did add a sim in 2017/2018 when training became an issue for new hires, I’m sure they wouldn’t hesitate to do the same again if needed.
