Default Hire for foreigner

Hi everyone, I live in South Korea and would move to the US soon. I have flown total 2100hrs which includes 1100hrs for AF military fighter jet(as PIC) and 1000hrs for A320 as FO. My nationality is South Korean but has green card for eligible to work in the US.
I’ll have ATP/CTP course in next month and hopefully would get full ATPL by next FEB.
I don’t know I’m competitive for regional airline or could get a chance to Major like Spirit directly?
Or, is it too hard to get a chance to foreigner?

With a green card and an FAA ATPL and a 320 type rating with experience you have a good chance to be hired.

I would recommend trying attend a “Meet the chief pilot” event, as the application process/website is set up more for pilots with traditional American experience. Because of this your application may be rejected by mistake. Talking to the chief pilot may help guide you.

You are right about that. But we might have to get used to that. I got here with 8K multi, all turbine, and only one guy in my class had less time, but he had flown the 747 for 5 years. I’m pretty sure we will see people get hired with a restricted ATP and 1K total & 50 multi time in the future. Worked for a company abroad that did that before (frozen ATPL, about 250 hours TT when they were released to the line), you’re basically doing IOE as a line captain for their first few months, after that you don’t really see the difference with more experienced FOs.
Disclaimer: the times TSHTF it was with guys who had been there longer, and I definitely think that’s the big one….

All the majors are trending in that direction. It wasn’t that long ago, the regionals had 2500hr minimums and we’ve seen them scraping the bottom of the barrel for a while.

“Thank you so much for reaching out. What is your current Multi-Engine time? The resume submitted online does have a time that is a lower than our minimums and we do require candidates to meet those in order to attend our events.

Best regards,
Spirit Talent Acquisition Team”

Hence the posted question
specifically about minimum multi time to attend a MTC event, as opposed to getting hired.
