ABSOLUTELY. That’s the point he was making.

I mean what makes you think all of us coming onboard haven’t been trying at all the legacies and majors? I still keep them all updated and do it at the end of every trip. Only thing I don’t have on my application is some kind of management or union job. You go to whoever calls. Then you get so far down the road it’s tough taking yet another pay cut chasing bases around. It’s like the Mainline captain and FO looking back.. you got your app in? We’re hiring! Oh gee what a thought!

Obviously you're not a golfer.

Considering the impending dearth of pilots as well as slot limitations, fuel, and labor costs, this is a very real possibility. Definitely has me nervous about this profession over the next ten years.

Haha. Clearly you weren’t around for 60 to 65.

As brilliantly said, “obviously you’re not a golfer”

Guys in the AA forums are pretty concerned about B6 getting their NYC flying. Could be the canary in the coal mine.

I remember when it happened. But no I wasn’t on the flying side of aviation then.

So true. I’m at an AA WO and I had to jumpseat on mainline yesterday and they literally said this. Is your app in? We are desperate over here. I’m like “sigh,,my app along with thousands of other qualified apps are in.” But they did also say those spirit pilots sure seem happy.

Aside from the struggles of the first year pay I’ve loved my time here. The flying is fun and challenging. The overnights are really nice. Crews are very friendly. I’m trying to be very careful about spewing cool-aid out and what not but for my family and I living in base and the flying has worked for us. I’ll keep my options open for now but eventually I’m going to have to settle in somewhere.
