Hopefully we can agree to something like Southwest and United (I think it was United) did and offer some hours of pay if you are/get vaccinated

Most carriers are now requiring vaccination for new hires. It’s easy because you don’t have representation while on probation. Plus they won’t have to pay you for the shot if that’s ever negotiated. It also strengthens managements argument for some sort of mandate. It’s already required for a segment of our pilot group.

Some people went so far down the conspiracy/antivax wormhole that nothing will bring them out of it. Same way you can’t tell a flat-earther that the world isn’t flat, even with mountains of evidence

If a person believes the vaccines have value for at risk groups and that they should take it, but don’t need it personally because they don’t belong to one of those groups are they antivax?
If they’ve willingly taken other vaccines in their life and would/will again, but want to wait on these new ones a bit are they anti vaccine?
If they’re openly supportive of anyone taking the vaccine that feel that they need it or want it are they anti vaccine?
Is someone a conspiracy theorist if a person notes how radically hypocritical and irrational the response to and implementation of policies for this pandemic are and have been?
Your government just exempted themselves from the mandate. That’s how much covid scares them. Elected officials ditch the mask as soon as the cameras quit rolling. Attend large parties with not a care for the restrictions they want placed on the rest of us. They are letting 100’s of thousands into our country without even beginning to see if they are infected. These facts aren’t in dispute. It’s not conspiratorial. And the inconsistencies go on and one. Forgive me and others if that doesn’t give us pause about what’s going on.
We we just got hit with a novel virus. One that it seems we probably had a hand in creating. Amazingly, our immune systems weren’t ready for a virus they haven’t seen before. This thing killed a lot of people. Most of those deaths are clustered in the elderly and or those with certain comorbidities. No surprise there. But now we’re demanding that healthy people, many of them Covid recovered and having at least some natural immunity, perhaps on par with correct vaccine efficacy dependent on the study used, get what are still largely experimental drugs. With no idea of the side effects past one year. And yet you will look at me and others call us crazy or conspiratorial for thinking this way.
This isn't about safety anymore. This is an utterly botched and politicized response to a pandemic, and now we’re so far down the rabbit hole of stupid that companies just want to pass liability off to their employees so everyone can feel touchy feely again and life can move on. That’s F’d up.
Some if you are salivating over a payday. I guess if a fraction of a percentage of your annual income gets you all hot and bothered than have at it. When balanced against my health I don’t think $2k after taxes (assuming NKS were to match competitors) is worth the risk I incur. The company sure as hell isn’t going to pick up the tab if I develop complications later on.
That may all change as the vaccines get better, and or I develop some co morbidity. Or god forbid get old.
Thats a lot of talking off the nearest soapbox I could find. But perhaps back off the everyone who doesn’t see it my way is crazy or some other label BS. It’s not helpful.

Theres nothing worse than people labeling everyone they disagree with as crazy or conspiracy theorists. Or Antivax.
