Thats a great question. I have never been to a MTC event. So, it’s a way screening applicants without having to pay for their airfare or hotel, I guess. I’m all in. Was just curious what the impact of these events are because people get hired without attending them as well.

Do you get one on one time? Do they give you any sense that you will get asked to interview?

Yes, you get a one on one with one of the chiefs. They had a room set up with a bunch (maybe 10) small folding tables and and someone seated at each table. I don't know if some were recruiters or they were all CPs. Anyway, you get brought to one of the tables and sit down. They asked me for a resume and then asked a bunch of basic questions based on the resume. I was told about hiring plans for next year (he said around 400 pilots) as well as the 25 airplanes arriving. It's strange, but I didn't get a feeling one way or another about getting called for an interview. There wasn't a strong sense of "oh well, I don't think they're going to call" and I didn't think "wow, I'm in!" either. It was just a very matter of fact exchange of asking questions and writing stuff down. I will say he asked a couple of questions that made me think it was a positive meeting when he said something like "when you come to Spirit, is commuting going to be a problem?". Saying when instead of if had a positive spin. At any rate, I got the email for the phone interview a few days before the MTC and the recruiter I emailed recommended I come to the MTC as well. I just viewed it as some basic interview practice.

Id assume they think if you go to a MTC event you already understand the business model and basics of the job. MTC is just to get some face time, show your interested, and ask any questions you might have.
