They deserve and need to be paid at a higher level than these other entry level hourly jobs. And when that happens the staffing issues will be sorted. Or we can just sit back and wait and hope that more people will apply for whatever it is they’re paying them now.
Im not trying to convince you of anything.

Last time I checked, we dont control the hiring, pay, or working conditions for anyone at this company. I can provide you a list of many things we "should" be doing at this place and you can file it in the exact same place the company files suggestions from those on the front lines of the company, in the trash.

Caring about money is a two sided coin. Management cares about money in the fact they dont want to spend it. But when those decisions affect their own money, they will make changes then and only then.

Agreed. After 9 years here with yearly meltdowns and not many changes, I’ve come to the conclusion that meltdowns are “baked” into the ULCC formula.

Stepping over millions to save thousands. I mean really, it sure isn’t going to cost $150 million to offer lucrative (relatively) retention bonuses to ramp and customer service people. Instead they waste $150 million when it all implodes to save a couple million in payroll expense.

$200 recruitment incentives were a joke. Yeah let me convince someone I know to hunch inside 150 degree pit and throw a thousand bags a day for $12/hr or whatever they’re paying with no benefits. Or try and collect bag fees from a bunch of people yelling in your face all day.

Management during the meltdown: “we don’t have time to discuss fixes, just need to stay focused on getting through this meltdown.”

Management after meltdown: “See, everything is running fine. Keep doing what you’re doing.”

to be fair, the message/mood of every single town hall/email/video/etc that’s come out since August has been the exact opposite of what’s quoted
