Im sorry if I dont see things like you and Dr DHD do; Im going nowhere, know we will have a fight for the next contract (it always is) and will continue to enjoy the good things in my life, most importantly; family, health, and being happy.
It really is that simple.
"The minds of old captains here shocks me". Haha, ok. I guess us CAs who are in our late 30s/early 40s are so out of touch. But we have been around long enough to know what we dont know, what good times are versus bad time, and realize that the arrogance of people who have been doing this for sub 5 years is always good for a laugh.
Keep educating and predicting, always good for a laugh, as we are all in fact laughing at you.

My prediction; sun will continue to rise in the east and set in the west. This isnt my first merger, probably won't be my last. I have learned that its nowhere as bad as people make it out to me, so I dont get worked up about it. I believe there can be tremendous opportunities once the merger/SLI/JCBA is complete and if we can take our deliveries, a real powerhouse in the market.

In response to Cinco and pointed at all the young uns... . I'm not gonna say it is always better than the doom and gloom. But it sometimes is. Either way, we are in a spot to fight the company for what is right for our new combined pilot group.
Accept the things you cannot change and change the things you can... But try to have the wisdom to know the difference.
Fight the company hard when it comes time to vote... But for now, enjoy the ride. It's gonna be a long one and it won't do anyone any good to burn out now, when it's just getting started.

not sure theres any positives that are rational for the future.

fair enough though im not sure how to just ignore the fact that the nk mgmt groups have never shown any actual skills in guiding the ship. i mean the larger company got bought out by a smaller one because nk was overextended with no investment in IT, ops, etc. they sold because they couldnt run a larger airline effectively.( they couldnt handle the growth) now they are trying to essentially double it with f9 mgmt that has been cutting bases , created a sub par contract and apparently created and environment that is semi toxic.

While I don’t disagree with anything you just mentioned you might want to look at this from another perspective. When franke sold his remaining equity in nk he was forced to do that by the SEC in order to buy f9. Indigo had to completely divest themselves to make the purchase. In other words they tried to buy f9 from rep while having some controlling interest in nk. To me this looks planned years ago.
As far as f9 management and thier current labor issues. That will need to get resolved in short order and very well could be in two different ways. First, your management takes over. Your ceo was our cfo several years back. Second there’s a mid level management shakeup at f9 in the near future. There’s a few scapegoats for the labor issues available right now. One or the other of those are pretty likely imo.

yeah watch some cnbc market analysis man or do you not do that? they will all say because it was required for growth but harsher critics will lay out that frankly that the only reason a smaller company can aquire a larger one is exactly that.. it was mismanaged and overextended ( airbus orders )
do you as well listen to all the quarterly calls for the past 2 years? I do, so in fact I may have a bit of insight instead of just saying yolo things will be fine.

Whatever you need to do. A prediction on apc is one thing. Listening to management is another. But if that helps you deny the reality then sure. This is how were all going to get sandbagged. By burying our heads in the ground
