All of us here have done that. It doesn't make it right. If the company wants to be competitive for new hires, they're going to have to pay a decent wage. 90 days to get healthcare is insane, on top of the training pay and first year.

I think the health insurance is worse than the pay or training pay. I’m sure we’ve had people take the gamble on not paying cobra and losing…
All of it needs to be addressed. It should not be about negotiating capital.

I took that gamble and it paid off, it it was a nervous 90 days. Nice thing with COBRA though is you can retroactively use so long as you have the cash to pay for all of the time.

TIL. That’s definitely a gofundme I would contribute to, but it should not even be necessary. I was lucky that we had health insurance through my wife, would have been worried with 2 young kids if not.

I heard the Sunshine state has had a rain cloud lingering overhead. Anybody know about some gate agents or ground crew walked off the job today down there?

something about they were supposed to get a raise and instead got a gift card for Omaha Stakes instead?

Isn't that true everywhere?

Sounds like our competition in So. FL is literally hiring our guys, that quit, for $1-2 more per hour and they are coming across the hallway to them. Who knows. It’s definitely plausible. At any rate I try and avoid the area as much as possible. All that said, my last 2 visits weren’t extraordinarily outrageous or out of the ordinary.

95 minutes waiting on the ground for a gate yesterday while staring at empty gates. “Staffing issues”. Nothing changes. It must be baked into the ULCC model. Maybe Bendo and Ted could put on some yellow vests and park planes and sling bags on the weekends.

I made so little money in training that we qualified for reduced rates through the marketplace! Total premiums, $0.
