You'd think so but seniority causes people to keep their heads in the sand at times. Last guy I flew with was still convinced spirit was purposely misreporting numbers to shareholders and didn't believe we are losing money. Godspeed.

This is actually a great article talking about the trouble ULCCs are facing. It was back in October and even the author mentions it doesnt make sense to fight the merger. It's insane the Judge sided with the DOJ

Fortunately for them (and us all) demand for flying recovered much quicker than most people predicted, so they are able to pay the increasing debt service and even starting to pay it down a little causing Moody's to elevate their senior secured notes back above the junk bond ratings previously held.

nor have I bad mouthed NK. The P&W engine problem was not predictable, nor was the fact that the judge ignored the increasing competition by the Big Three in making his decision. It would be foolish to pretend that those two factors don't affect career progression (at a minimum) and attrition (the thread subject after all) at NK and even threaten the longer term prospects of the company.

Who operates the P&W, other than Spirit?
