Attrition

What can Spirit ALPA do to get people off their butts? They buy food, sometimes provide hotel and transportation; people just need to show up. I see guys showing up to take 3 pizzas and a growler of beer home with our unity events, and those same people are no shows for picketing.
This isn’t on ALPA, your pilot group is either motivated for change or they are not.

Ahh, pretty pictures.
Get a clue.
First year pay doesn’t matter when years 2-12 lags.
Yeah, let’s bump first year pay to make it comfortable for guys to spend a year here before they get on with UAL or DAL. GMAFB.
People aren’t leaving because of first year pay. People are/will leave because of pay 2-12 and other reasons. Honestly clueless to think first year pay is the problem for attrition.
As said before, we have senior FOs and CAs leaving. Years past first year. You are blind if you only see your first year mantra over and over in your head. Problem is much bigger now, try and keep up; might be better to stay in the covid forums, lots of pretty charts for you to post over there.

Why don’t YOU get a clue? You whine repeatedly about the lack of solidarity in the pilot group but you have also repeatedly said you don’t give a $hit about newbie pay and it isn’t ALPAs responsibility to look after people who “ain’t even on property yet.” So the introduction for every newbie coming in under the policies you advocate is that the senior people don’t care about them. Then you expect them out on the picket line with you? No damn wonder they grab the pizzas and beer and run. You got what? Near 400 pilots on first year pay? And they don’t matter to you?
I can only explain it to you so much, as others have as well. You’re stuck, we get it.
I’m done with you. It’s lunacy to expect you to grasp the obvious. Maybe you can apply for a legacy job?!

They grab pizzas and run because legacy carriers are hiring nonstop at higher pay for every year of longevity and faster upgrades. Pay guys $150/hr first year and they are still leaving if you don’t raise years 2-12.

The other issue is the young age of the pilot group. The bi-yearly master seniority list just came out and it was depressing as **** when I looked at my seniority at retirement. If Spirit doesn't double in size I may never upgrade. At the legacies quick upgrade is almost guaranteed with the retirements if you get in within the next couple years.
You’re exactly right. There are 100 issues Spirit needs to “fix” besides year 1, if they want to keep and retain pilots

From a guy that paid his dues at a regional or two, I may be an outlier but, it’s far far better. I think the best paid captain at any US regional tops out around 130/hr. And don’t get me started on QOL contract garbage.
