I’ve never in my life seen such a group of negative pessimists. First off, no one has made any mention of furloughs whatsoever. No one has made any mention of VILs whatsoever. People are taking the 42 airplanes, and multiplying at times 14 pilots an airplane and that’s where the 5 to 600 number comes from. We have quickly forgotten that we are in the midst of a huge trial in an attempt for JetBlue to purchase spirit. Does anyone really think that they’re going to go around and paint a glorious picture of spirit? Of course not. They are trying to make their case. Of course, the airplanes were an unexpected curve ball in this mess. But Pratt & Whitney’s estimate is a worst case scenario. The airplane engines are being inspected, yes, we are grounding airplanes but we are also getting airplanes back on the line. Frankly, if you are someone who is new here, I would almost say stick around. If the three or four people on this forum that are so negative represent a majority of the pilots feelings at spirit, the possibility of getting seniority could happen quite quickly. Stop making stuff up, stop posting stuff that you have not physically seen or that you don’t factually know. Are we in a perfect place? Of course not. Are we “doomed”? Of course not. But we head, give me a hard time about what I just said, call me an idiot, whatever it is that you want to do. I’m prepared for it. But the doom and gloom and sky is falling attitude is getting quite humorous to see.

Facts are the company has discussed furloughs and they are a very real possibility if the merger fails, as is Chapter 11. It’s not being a pessimistic person, it’s being someone who has done this for more than a few years.
So maybe just listen to those who have been doing this for a while, save your cash, and explore options if necessary is the merger fails.
