All that is subject to change depending on the merger outcome and how quickly the NEO engine issues are resolved of course.

Partial pay to stay home. Would not have happened had southwest not inked a similar deal the week prior back on 2020. ALPA has already spoken with management about partial paid leaves and Spirit is not interested. Now if the merger gets a green light and Robin wants to hang on to some pilots I could see the the stance on paid leaves changing. Anyone we furlough isn’t coming back when recalled I can tell you that.

An ATP Career Pathway grad I flew with recently said he had friends in the pool that got an email saying no classes until at least October 2025.

Does anyone have the most recent attrition numbers? Given the state of things, I can't imagine it's not at an all-time high. If we're 500 pilots overstaffed, how long will it really be before we lose 500 due to attrition alone...

The problem with that, of course, is that the attrition is disproportionately in the FOs and the most junior FOs at that, meaning the monetary savings per attrition is minimal, especially if anyone winds up displaced.

Can't argue with that statement, but junior FOs will be where furloughs hit. Isn't it reasonable to see the attrition numbers compared to how many we could all guess/estimate would be furloughed from the bottom to see if there really is a need for all the doom and gloom furlough talk? Also, the recent hiring craze at Spirit brought in so many new FOs - isn't that where the airline is overstaffed the most? I know the FOs on reserve aren't getting used nearly as much as before. Is the captain side the same (not that a furlough or meaningful attrition would effect even low seniority captains all that much)?
