So for the people who have been around during COVID, do you think enough people will take these buyouts to avoid furloughs?

As far as furloughs for pilots:
My guess is if the merger fails, 99% chance we furlough unless the attiriton without backfill is enough, supplemented with a CA displacemet bid to thin out CA numbers.
If merger passes, going to be what Robin probably tells Ted to do. I dont think Ted will have carte blanche to layoff Robin's future workforce without Robin giving the approval.
Just need to wait and see what Judge Young has decided for our futures.

No, you are correct. This is for office staff types etc.

Sonwhat does that mean at NK if the merger goes down?
Basically, anyone you try to downgrade will be out the door, any lineholder CAs that can no longer hold a line will be saying adios, anyone you furlough you will never see back, and any remaining FOs will be heading for greener pastures as soon as they can get their apps out. You'll wind up keeping only the highest paid guys you got, which will be a h€ll of a personnel hit for damn little savings. And if F9 try's to buy NK, most of those people will be pulling the handles too.

If the merger fails I think you are going to see HUGE attrition.
These are United's drops to their new hires in intro this week
So at least ten of the new hires are going to be upgraded to CA as soon as they have 500 hours at the company.p, like it or not.
