Usually it comes up after they ask what I think about the B6 merger. A surprising amount of people have never seen the contact comparison pamphlet our union put out. After they see that B6's contract beats our in almost every way is usually when I tell them how some of our regional language was better than NK's ( parking brake released door closed, block or better leg by leg, etc etc)
doesn’t B6 pay more for health insurance premiums? Can B6 pilots pick up trips out of base? What does B6 pilots contract say about cleaning the planes in between turns? Can a B6 pilots get disciplined for using the commuter clause?

please tell me more about this pamphlet…

I assume you’ve never had to temporarily drop a couple of three or four day trips and build back up?

yeah, keep making fun of DTZ. Carefully what you wish for.

Well I suppose this week what I got was hours of testimony from your CEO talking about how Spirit is a failing business model on the verge of bankruptcy and that his employees only hope at continued employment and market wages/lifestyle is for the aquisition to be approved. But, I am sure that DTZ is enough to make up for all that. But yeah, other then that I don't have anything.

nice straw man argument!!! Haha

I just gave a list of things in our “sub-par” contract and you don’t have an answer to any of it. you have responded twice by dodging the items I listed and now you are quoting something that the Spirit CEO said in court that has nothing to do with what we are talking about and trying to pretend that it does.

get out of here man…Don’t you have a plane to go help clean?

I mean our unions already gave you a list of the areas in which your contract loses, and the few in which it wins..... its called the contract comparison guide, I am sure if you look back in your emails you can find it. But hey, if you're happy with the status quo more power to you. If you go up a single thread a few decade plus captains are looking at premptively pulling their parachutes, but I am sure that they knew how good your contract was they would stay another decade. Maybe you can educate them?

At a glance, I wasn’t entirely impressed with the B6 contract. Sure they beat us in some areas, but it felt like a “this is it? This is what they make fun of us for?” kinda reaction.

That said, pending merger approval, we have a really good opportunity to have a strong JCBA

Do you think the Spirit NC should spearhead the JCBA negotiations?

I don’t know how the JB guys are. Wouldn’t be fair to say one way or another. We should work together as the process dictates though
