Sounds like you guys will be getting a raise by block time too.
JB is main cabin door close with first brake release to final break application before main door opens.
Its a shame when you park at the gate after chocks are in and you need to release the brake for brake cooling.
plus we don’t have to wait around on the plane when customs holds the paxs.

One pilot is required to stay on the A/C until the last pax deplanes. So if there is a 20 minute customs hold, and then it takes 25 minutes to deplane because there are 13 wheelchairs, then one pilot ends up waiting around for 45 minutes without getting paid.
I wish I could say that I was surprised when they started doing this, but our union is weak so naturally there wasn't much pushback if any at all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad these people are here, but when voting time comes around we need to be more focused on comparing ourselves to the other US based airbus operators and less focused on how much better things are at Spirit versus Avianca back in the day.
The other issue is the pre 9/11 hires, many of whom are odd balls, but are thankfully retiring soon.

At our larget base we have a ton of people from other parts of the world where pilots don't have near the pay and contractual protections that US pilots enjoy. I thoroughly enjoy working with most of these pilots as they are overall a great group, but I've noticed there is quite a bit of "back at [insert foreign airline]" rhetoric going on.

9% match wasn't bad coming from a regional, but when the company offered a hybrid match/DC ala Virgin in 2015 when the rest of the industry was pure DC, yeah..... Times have changed, circumstances have changed, expectations should also change.

But guys just remember we take more of spirit's bottom line than Delta's pilots do so we need to tell our Delta buddies to "step it up"!

Usually it comes up after they ask what I think about the B6 merger. A surprising amount of people have never seen the contact comparison pamphlet our union put out. After they see that B6's contract beats our in almost every way is usually when I tell them how some of our regional language was better than NK's ( parking brake released door closed, block or better leg by leg, etc etc)

Believe me, I absolutely don't want to be that "back at XXX" guy.
