Attrition

So the MEC sends and email to us emphasizing awareness to management with regard to JetBlue's contractual improvements and the ever changing landscape. Why have they not continued to post our attrition data to support the effort? Wouldn't this also bolster that "second bite of the apple" the negotiating committee hard sold the group on?

Yes it was. My point is if you are trying to raise awareness of something, why would you not gather and disseminate data that supports your argument. Beyond that why would the company compile information that supports the oppositions stance? Should that not be the unions responsibility? The union is fully capable of gathering the data and releasing it on a more frequent basis.

There is no second bite. There isn’t even an apple. The NC spooked most of our group into taking the first offer, and assuaged the fears of those who were on the fence with this bites of the apple nonsense. We have nothing left to sell to the company that would bolster the deal we got suckered into last January. Now the MEC’s move is withhold supporting the merger (really?) in hopes that Robin and the gang will throw us a bone between a possible positive court outcome and the JCBA. It’s not the strongest position to negotiate from.

Don't you have your own management? How is "Robin and the gang" in any position to throw you anything?

The communication put out by our MEC stated there is a long road between merger approval and a JCBA, and as much as they would like to state full support for the merger many questions remain, including economic disparities and equal work for equal pay. To be honest I don’t know what they expect, as specific terms were not discussed, but what I gleaned from the message was they want some sort of assurances of parity specifically from B6 management in the interim to the JCBA. NK management was not mentioned. Your guess is as good as mine.

Put yourself in TC’s position. He already raised pilot pay once to stem attrition. If it didn’t help then why would he raise pay again?
All a new MEC can do is ASK for more money. That’s it.
I get that you’re upset, but I think you’re focusing on the wrong end of the formula. If you want a fast change in your situation the best thing as others have said is to leave and go elsewhere. If you want to stick it out here, I do fully think it will get better, but it’s not a quick fix and replacing the MEC going into a merger is irresponsible and selfish in my view.
