As long as some Spirit guys are justifying your low rates with "QOL! work rules!" which are lagging JB's work rules in aggregate, then yes you are going to hear that. And there are also JB pilots who need to shift their mentalities to the current reality which is that we are competing with the Big 3 with premium products in N/S America and to Europe, not competing with Frontier and Sun Country.

This is getting pretty chippy guys…
I understand, SLIs are always going to be contentious. The 2013 UAL/Continental SLI still causes bad feelings at UAL, and spawned a decade long court battle:

These things get everyone emotional.
But if anyone thinks that the two pilot groups throwing insults back and forth is the way to get a pilot group unified and thinking about the best ways to negotiate for the optimum JCBA, then they are raving idiots. More constructive comments and fewer insults might be a better path.

The old school white new balance crowd loves this kinda stuff, and it is deeply rooted in our culture

Doesn't matter if you make $400/hr, you will still get the "oh, ok cool" when someone asks what airline you fly for.

And some of us don’t need to compensate for who we are, by bragging about what we do or who we do it for.

Might want to let ALPA national in on that. They've been underwhelming for the last two decades in keeping this industry in pace compared to other "careers".

FWIW, I worked at B6 and now at a legacy. Other than the commute, my QOL at B6 was good. The better pay rates at the legacies comes at the cost QOL and work rules. No DTZ or similar mechanisms. Trips can be down right brutal. Just saying, be careful what you bargain for.
