The point, for the clueless and myopic pilots here, is the airline will look and feel like one of the Big 3, and will have a larger stature and network than many of the legacies of the early 2000s. So you should act like it and expect a Big 3 style contract.

You need to ditch the "shuttling trailer trash to Myrtle" mindset.

Hopefully we can bring JetBlue up from the bottom of the airline rankings that they seem to be at every year. Seriously, how does jblue get ranked lower than NK and F9 in airline rankings?

Don’t they know about the “lay flat seats” some of you like to jerk over.

Point is, for the clueless and myopic, you’re still a low cost carrier. Just because you don’t have the U for “ultra,” let’s not act like you guys are anything more than a low cost carrier.

We may take the trash out of MYR, but I’m guessing you are taking quite a few pieces of trash from Southie on your flights.

How about we just get a great JCBA and stop acting like JBLU is something it ain’t.

Per usual you all are missing the point. We will be a large airline directly competing with the legacies with similar route structures and products.

raise your contract expectations beyond that of a ULCC pilot. At this point my biggest concern going into JCBA is our combined pilot groups low expectations.

we are not and have not been a LCC for years. Our CASM is in line with the legacies. Our RASM the same.

It's cute you think some media airline rankings matter at all. But since you do, you can review this JD Power ranking in Forbes which for 2022 lists JetBlue #2 in economy, and #1 in first/business class (no, "Big Front Seat" didn't even ping their radar) and premium economy.

This is the point I was trying to convey to 5dM. It seems they don't want to grasp it and adjust their expectations upward.

And to reiterate your point, JB hasn't been an LCC for quite some time.

This has nothing to do with what jetblue is or isn’t vs spirit right now. Completely missing the point of my original post.

it’s about what we will be going forward. A direct competitor to the legacies. Raise your expectations!

They have said "low fare carrier" or "value carrier" (similar to Alaska's, a legacy, model) not "low cost carrier." Honest question: why don't you want to ditch the ULCC/LCC mindset?

Don’t conflate it. We are willing to ditch the mindset. It’s the mindset of some of you boys trying to tell Spirit pilots that we just got called up the big leagues from the minors and that JBLU is some fantastic reward for us.

JBLU is still behind legacy carriers, still has a long way to go in overall satisfaction and reliability, etc. I’m all for, repeat, ALL FOR, working to get us where we need to be airline/pay wise, but stop it with the few of you coming on to this thread telling us we need to “lock it up”.

You should be telling your side of the house this.
