The most likely merger if there is one would be Southwest and Sun Country. But who knows crazier things have happened but if I were a ceo and I needed 737s and typed pilots I wouldn’t buy an Airbus operator. I would think JetBlue and Frontier would be in talks before Southwest.

They want reserves to be available for a 4 day. If everyone was only available for 2 days and started checker boarding in days of 2 it would hinder them. I think it’s something to ask for but I think realistically they’ll want at minimum 4 days so they can cover our longer trips.

Not trying to negotiate in public or anything, just wondering.
Thanks.

You must be the worst bidder in the system. DFW has January 2020 guys holding a line for January, so 2 years from DOH to a 16 day off line.
You either want reserve or you dont know how to bid. 4 years on reserve is by choice.

So he has been a CA for 4 years and still reserve? Even that number doesn’t work. Junior CA in DFW with a line has been at Spirit for 6 years 3 months. So did he upgrade in 2 years and still on reserve? Maybe he is rounding up. Doesnt matter, he didn't mention CA or FO so I assumed it was FO. I stand corrected if he is a CA
One thing about taking first available upgrade vs waiting means you will be leapfrogged by senior guys when they they are ready to upgrade. Ask the DAL guys about the reserve life in NY for those who took first available.

Especially if he is a senior reserve holder and has plenty of junior “protection” under him with the same RAPs available. Senior reserve is great when you have 2 or 3 junior pilots with the same RAP/Days available
