ithink the real issue is that they are deeply traumatized by going into a negotiation where - for once - the leverage is disproportionally on the side of the pilots and neither the RLA nor the courts are likely to be able to change that for them. Their smartest move would probably be to make a more generous offer to the pilots with the bulk of it back-loaded so it becomes Jet Blue’s liability, then pour money into IT and schedulers that can work all the new more fuel efficient aircraft 14 hours a day even if it requires a higher red eye premium.

Hahaha. Spirit is actually cutting their IT budget next year, according to the road show. Classic spirit.

Just because itd be smart doesn’t mean it’s what they’d do.

Probably see no reason to invest in long term tools for a short term airline. 😁

You’re clueless.

You think Ted has the ability to backload a contract for the pilots, and JetBlue doesn’t have a say?

Bump up IT? Do you know how long this company hasn’t even been able to get a single login completed? And you think with their $0 IT increases next year they get that done, and “bump up IT”? They can’t even get schedulers to come back to the office because they have threatened to quit ant Spirit can afford to let them go, and can’t afford to give them raises apparently either.

Higher red eye premiums? The company announced red eyes will make up 30% of flying next year. Boom, they just made it happen. So now you think the company is going to come back and offer a higher red eye premium when they can make schedules how they see fit, only limited by CBA, 117 and fatigue calls.

I'm curious to see if the MEC/ and NC will continue emailing attrition numbers now that we have a TA on the table. It'll be real interesting to see the effects on attrition/hiring in the upcoming months.
