Just sayin I’m top 30% in the company. Top 40% in base. Holidays off. No red eyes, no international. And In January I have 16 days off .. 7 off in a row , 5 off in a row, and 4 off in a row. And if I wanted more off I could drop any of my trips and get nearly two weeks off in a row. Or I could drop the entire month and be a ski bum.
if we got gobbled up by WN I’m guessing I wouldn’t be able to check off any of those boxes.

disagree ? Are you saying I’d even have a chance of being top 30% of the combined new company ? Having been on property less than 9 years.. and as far as dropping trips .. I honestly don’t know .. can you guys drop your entire month? Would that be included in a new JCBA ? And also ,do you think I’d still stay left seat in a acquisition? I’m not measuring Peters or digging on WN. Just saying there is zero way I keep what I have now if we got bought. Pay bump probably . And a good one at that. But my pay here way more than supports my needs.

You can’t drop at SWA, certainly not like at NK. Let’s be real though, the odds of them buying NK are skim to none.

FWIW, we (SWA) are supposed to take up to 114 MAX7s next year if we exercise all the options. Only problem….the airplane’s not certified yet and certification is delayed.
I’m not insinuating a SWA/NK wedding but rather trying to calm your concerns that should one occur, I believe SWA is increasingly more likely to keep the Fifi’s especially as your fleet grows.

“But how do you make the first reverse high speed and taxi 50kts?”

Some guys are really on the M&A train.
Even in the event of a true pilot shortage, I don’t see another airline wanting to buy our pilot group and pay top dollar after months and years of arbitration.
First they have to convince our shareholders to either sell cheap, or go Gordon Gecko style acquiring us. “Blue Horseshoe loves Ned’s Kids”
We have orders, ok so what, no one’s really hurting for planes. Not much else in terms of key assets.
If we get to 3500-4000 pilots, the majority of which will have been on property less than 5 years. You think if the writing is on the wall the majority of those , especially in the right seat, won’t bounce to legacy ASAP but rather stay and fight for the senior guys here to get integrated and protected?
If you are top 30-40% of seniority here, the thought of a merger should wake you up at night in a cold sweat.
