Even if they magically snapped us up to delta pay across the board .. most young aviators that have an offer in hand from delta AND spirit most would go to delta anyway. Delta + $20.00 might attract more folks, but we know that’s not happening. The shortage in my opinion will speed up any potential M&A activity.. easier to recruit, and pay more the more you scale up. But I also think folks are somewhat over reacting. The shortage is here and will effect nearly everyone. The business will
find a way and adapt the best it can. I’m sure the entire industry has some icebergs ahead. But I’ll gladly take pilots being in short supply .. compared to the wasteland of the 2000s

Been thinking that too. The question is it a merger with a like minded airline or do we get picked off for qualified pilots, new NB’s, competition reduction and a hefty rainy day fund to soften the cost? SLI is a pain, but probably not something keeping CEO’s up at night.

Pilots we love to speculate. I’ve always said F9. But it’s what you don’t see coming that often does. So I have no idea. Both of those are viable guesses. I respect SW and have many friends there but that but I want no part of that. Or the Guppy. I can’t see any legacies making any moves but again who knows. The industry that’s seen everything, is on the verge of something unprecedented. IMHO

Yeah not a worry. That's what lawyers and union leaders worry about/deal with. Historically airlines grew substantial networks with M&A's. But you can't tell me that in the next 5-10 years EVERY airline can do the biggest hiring wave. Buy an airline for the pilots, the rest is either scrapped or brought in as extra icing on the top.

I’m not insinuating a SWA/NK wedding but rather trying to calm your concerns that should one occur, I believe SWA is increasingly more likely to keep the Fifi’s especially as your fleet grows.
