not yours either? Would you rather …
get a $20 raise now. ($1440/month - $17,280/year)
or hold out 6 months for, say, a $40 raise, which take 6 or so months to backfill and in this example would be the same total amount of pay as a smaller raise at one year but beat it out from that day forward?
mark me down as “willing to wait” for the right contract as well. Guess I don’t know numbers either.

IF WE HAD A DEFINED JCBA DATE it would be a lot easier to calculate. But when you don’t even know if it will be approved, the calculations get very…challenging.

Ok, I think I get your point. I just don’t care to entertain the idea that Alaska should have held out for better because certain calculations show that since they’ve been negotiating for 3years and inflation went up X amount that they actually took a pay cut.” I don’t care about that. They have industry leading at this point, I’m not gonna turn down Alaska pay in a LOA based on some idealist point of view. I’m also not gonna accept a lowball pay raise which is probably the point you’re trying to make ( If that’s it, I respect
that ).

You do. And I think they should have. Not for long hopefully. Yes, exactly. And I might be wrong.

“From that day forward” has a lot of variables. Like DOJ approval of a merger and the necessity of JB to then get a JCBA.

I don’t think holding out for that sort of expectation will serve us well if the goal is to get a good raise before we start negotiating a JCBA with B6. I’m also not gonna accept a lowball pay raise which is probably the point you’re trying to make ( If that’s it, I respect

I THINK you are right, although that won’t stop me from worrying until it does. But as I said, calculations would be a lot easier if there was a date certain.
