Management will reduce hiring requirements as much as they need to keep people coming in the door.

As I said, the cause of the training backlog is NOT because people aren’t coming here.

BUT WE DON’T HAVE A TRAINING BACKLOG BECAUSE PEOPLE AREN’T COMING HERE
Hint: That means they ARE coming here.

The pi$$-poor first year pay is NOT keeping them away. It has not provided us the leverage that some claimed it would provide us.

Hence the comment:
How long does it have to not work before you will admit it WON’T work?
Sorry if the double negative confused you.

You’ve been attacked and now you’ve dug right in. I think you are taking this issue too personally. We are in early openers now focusing on economic issues. I’d say it’s working. If all the carriers that offered 90/hr or more first year were getting contracts after negotiating for less time than us then asking the question: “How long does it have to not work before you will admit it WON’T work?” would be appropriate. But at our current situation it comes off as insincere and not logical. Frontier management raising first year pay to 90/hr is all the evidence anyone needs to realize that raising first year pay is not going to bring our pilot group more leverage.

The issue isn’t attracting people, it’s keeping them…

Pretty sure attracting them will be a huge problem in the coming months, as well. No reason to leave a regional to take a huge paycut here if a legacy is your ultimate goal.

THIS^^^^

Management will lower standards to a wet ATP if they need to to keep classes full. And there will be plenty of junior regional FOs with low flight time that will come here just to gain a type and enough hours to move on. All screwing our newbies is doing is providing management cheap feed.

Au contraire. A number of CA limited regionals are barely flying their most junior FOs - trying to get their senior ones CA eligible. They’ll go where they can get hours.

That’a an awe inspiring statement. And it makes no sense.

Are you are holding up F9 as an example of success? Or of failure? Their payscales (first year excepted) are what? One half percent above NK? How about the OTHER TEN airlines that pay considerably more than NK and DON’T treat their newbies like cr@p?

Did you forget about them?

All of them show that it ISN’T necessary to screw over newbies to get a good contract.

And I repeat:

How long will this have to not work before you are going to be convinced it’s not working?

Or is this some cult religious thing with you that you will never give up?
