But there is urgency. And it’s on them. THEY need to hire and keep more pilots. THEY need to increase aircraft utilization and crew new aircraft coming on property in order to be profitable. I will fly my line, support my union, and vote no on a sh*ty proposal if it gets out for a vote. But in reality they don’t have much choice, the pay has to go up and soon.

Other tips are just land on time! RVR is actually unreliable just follow the glide slope to wheel touchdown, I also find using just one reverser (if that) to idle is only necessary so I can get the SETWA going as soon as possible. It also saves fuel to just declare "minimum fuel" to land straight in without flying all the way around the stupid traffic pattern on some ridiculously long and unnecessary downwind vectors.

Thankfully, if we're making good time I always get that "Reduce to Cost Index 0 message. The heck with the traffic behind us, by slowing down to .74 I'm saving them fuel too so not only am I saving the world fossil fuel I'm reducing Carbon Emissions. Win for everybody on earth!
🤣😂🤣🤣
Always do cross bleed start to save on APU time taxiing out. Have to call you out on the setwa tho. It's 3 minutes regardless of full/idle reverse. Correct procedure is doing the Approach with #2 at idle from GS intercept, so you can kill #2 at the 70 call.

Those are true statements. But also very vague and unknown.

Right, that’s because my crystal ball is not working today. But I’m feeling optimistic this time around. Like I said I don’t see them having much of a choice.

This is the kind of out-of-the-box thinking that's going to take this outfit to great places!

I agree with your points. We’re down to pay and it’s pretty simple as someone stated in a previous post. Copy Alaska plus 1 or whatever and you’d slow attrition a lot. Problem is, THEY don’t care!! It’s pretty evident.

Actions speak louder than words. The next couple months (or even weeks) will clearly show if THEY care about running the airline that they are in charge of running. All we can really do is wait and VOTE accordingly (well, and bi*ch on this forum of course

I’m feeling more confident than last time and generally agree. On the other hand, maybe Ted and gang think it’s worth it to keep payroll as low as possible even if that means taking a hit on the profit margins. Once it gets bad enough, whatever that metric is (obviously different than what our metric is) is when we get a pay raise. In the meantime, if a recession hits bad enough, or something else happens that alleviates the pilot supply issues then it will have been a worthy gamble.

They’ve already shown where they’re at. With so many airplanes coming with expensive lease payments, they’re already sunk. They’re just waiting for Uncle Wobbin to give them their golden parachute.

I'll go ahead and save you the suspense...they don't care.

Also, incoming meltdown this weekend after the hurricane.
