Don’t blame you one bit. Anyone junior and commuting either way should definitely be looking at options. Anyone that commutes and would switch to living in base should definitely be looking no matter their seniority here.
All the covid early outs created a hiring vacuum. Retirements that would’ve taken place over a few years happened all at once.
Wide body FOs are making the same as spirit captains and dozing for dollars

i do agree there’s great points being made to the merits of jumping. I’ve got a FedEx carrot hanging myself but at my age, I think I’m staying. (Plus I live in base)
ivthink im gonna hold the line here and help get our QOL and pay up to snuff.
best of luck to anyone who pursues a better situation for themselves. I’m just not sure one exists for me

People who drive to work in our Florida bases or Vegas have quite the dilemma as QOL at the legacies may get downgraded while living in those areas. For everyone else in all of the other bases...nah. If I were still in Texas I'd be pulling out of this place faster than Jerry Jones' playoff hopes.
Growth is great and all and I'm happy for it, but let's not forget the pain that comes with that growth and the typical Spirit M.O. of having one person doing the job of five people.

Spirit paying trash low wages. Confidence inspiring? I think not

Training pay and no benefits for 90 days isn’t gonna get the job done. Upgrades are quicker at UA/FDX. Second from the bottom rates now.
The QOL card is only gonna take them so far.
Time to pay up, Bendo. Start hiring foreign pilots and zero turbine time guys from universities and see how fast this place goes to ****. Attrition will sky rocket

I’ve kept my stuff updated ever since I started the airlines 6 years ago. When I got hired here I didn’t update them for 6 months and just started doing it again. I read in the forums at FedEx, UPS, and the legacies they’re looking to see if you just started updating or if they’ve been in for over 4 months. Just a thought.
