Attrition

I for one think a snap up to current jetblue pay rates is the logical and obvious starting point. In my seat position that’s roughly 30k a year bump in the meanwhile. Then when the deal gets approved (if it does) then we are even steven with our new colleagues and then we can fight for more in a new JCBA that will be needed to consummate the deal. Attrition will slow if that happens. It’ll never stop with the big 3 hiring. That’s to be expected. But having both sides on the same scale going into the new JCBA negotiations seems logical to me ..
they mentioned when the deal was agreed upon that they negotiated better protections from B6 for current NK employees , what exactly did that entail .. they never said. Perhaps B6 agreed to pick up a portion of said pay raises in the interim as a condition to reaching an agreement . Who knows.
We will no doubt need to end up at legacy pay rates in the final Analysis. I can’t see us getting higher than that at the moment because we can’t negotiate with a company that doesn’t own us yet .. and we very well won’t get that from a current management that will likely get dissolved. Some QOL sweeteners, nice pay bumps and 16% DC is worthwhile place to hang out until the JCBA begins in earnest. Just my opinion.

Just trying to decide if it’s worth the pay cut actually. I’m mid-fifties and wondering financially if I should just stay here and upgrade and make more money or leave if given the opportunity.
It wasn’t a cheap-shot, it’s just facts and kind of a warning of what’s going on the regional world. Crazy times.
I know Spirit has much better QOL than any regional, but money for retirement is really important for me now.

It’s the only way Spirit will learn to match legacy pay.
