They're making fun of cargo, not anti first year pay.

Except for Frontier, every other company is raising all years of pay, not just first year. The frontier pilot group screwed the pooch on that one. Fortunately our union had some good foresight and the company will have to make a commitment to the whole group if they want to keep this airline staffed.

Next week we’ll see if Bendoritis decides to play his little games. I wouldn’t be shocked, us and management have gotten along for the most part the past couple of years but I’ve never forgotten who I work for and neither should anyone else. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t drag the whole place down just to give us the middle finger before JetBlue takes over. They’re obviously not happy about the JetBlue deal and I wouldn’t put it past them to leave JetBlue management with a dumpster fire of an operation that they can’t staff.

I'm sure there are stipulations that don't allow for this. They can't just run the place into the ground and hand a dud over to JB. I'm sure their buyouts are associated with keeping the airline running at a certain level.

Agreed and I am sure there is going to be bonus paid to the C suites depending on how well the airline is doing.

Agreed but it wouldn't surprise anyone if they continued to run status quo, which already is a dumpster fire.

Does the union not step in at some point and push for competitive pay?

I believe they tried but the beard and bendo were preoccupied.

Edit

*SPA email states they're going with a focused approach and will try to secure an amended agreement in a few sections as soon as possible.

We won't see the contract we want but should see improvements in the right direction. Caveat of course is providing the company plays ball.

Company is willing to offer jet blue rates right out of the gate. Not sure if they want anything in return.
