Attrition

A lot of pilots senior to you have applied, have interviews, or have class dates elsewhere. The prospect of working for Frontier was the last straw for a lot of us. With the potential of B6 acquiring us instead, everyone that I know has put their plans on hold awaiting the outcome. AA has been very gracious in allowing those with class dates to extend them into the future while the chips fall. I don't think there's been a shift in opinion in working for F9 but rather a 'wait and see' optimism that B6 could win this thing.

I don't TC is worried about anything more than his payout. This operation seems to be on autopilot with no interest in even maintaining par at this point.

I’m not sure I’d delay the AA class date to see if it’s B6 dependent on your situation given their seniority list movement unless you’re confident that your base will remain open. I talked to my base chief the other day and she had processed 3 resignations that day and 10 in the last 3 days. No breakdown on CA/FO, but 9 were in base and 1 was from another base. AA is trying to run 45 a week for the foreseeable future.

I just can’t wrap my head around airlines that aren’t a major not doing everything to keep their pilots. Let alone doing nothing or even making it worse to retain current pilots. It’s going to be nearly impossible to grow the airline with this attrition.

I honestly don’t think they care because they’re checked out, or are foolish enough to think it’s business as usual.

They are getting out their own resumes right now. Management per se is sort of on autopilot…

I think their "hope" is to grow the ATL base with voluntary vacancies, like the MCO base when it opened, and then all FOs that leave, will be backfilled by new hires going to ATL first and then the FLL/MCO market next. It makes sense, if we are losing 40 FOs a month, better to just make ATL the new dumping ground for new hires instead of displacing out of bases like DFW, DTW and ORD and then having FOs leave those bases for new jobs.
Question is the CA side, so you get your initial dump of CAs wanting ATL the first month with voluntary vacancy movement to ATL. And then what? They stated they have too many CAs in those 3 bases, its not like 100 CAs are going to quit in ORD or go to ATL to solve their overstaffing CA issue, same with DFW and DTW. It seems this slower staffing idea will benefit pilots in the "displacement" bases, but I dont believe them for a second that it wont cause involuntary displacements on the CA side down the road. Because soon they open IAH and hope what, that CAs in DFW now say "I want to commute to IAH?" outside of the 5 or so that live down there?
Again, I like this way much better, but it wont prevent involuntary displacements, maybe just lessen them on the CA side....hopefully.

With ATL potentially opening up in September any word on new hires getting ATL? I've seen this post where it says that there will be a lot of voluntary movement and another in a different thread saying it'll go senior. I have a training date in August and live in Atlanta, so that's why I'm asking.

There are new hires that will be awarded ATL. How much movement will happen when you are eligible to bid is anyones guess. But as of the most recent report there are indeed new hires that will be awarded ATL.

Dude I swore a sacred vow to punch anyone starting any contract debate with “what are you willing to give up” squarely on the nose so I’m gonna need an address and a convenient time to meet up. Nothing personal
