What you clearly implied was that it wasn’t the unions job to ASSURE adequate first year pay, however you wish to weasel-word it. I believe the union has a moral and legal obligation to treat ALL pilots in the group fairly. Bargaining for the more senior pilots but leaving compensation for new hires up to management does not do that.
