I don’t know if I’d be enjoying that I’m sure they could call you at any moment to moving your training up… which means you’re gonna have to constantly be memorizing your flows and profiles.
by the way I’ve been in the Jumpseat a lot of times on American. why is it the FO is always tuning the new frequency for the captain regardless of who’s leg it is?

Who cares? I know of several who’ve left and several others with AA class dates. Let them be happy with their decision as you are with yours.

Back to attrition. Per the MEC email, the company agrees that they have an attrition problem, but will not be coming to the table due to the pending merger. Can't say I'm surprised. If it's true that 1/3 of our hires came from AA WO's, we may be in for a world of hurt.

Plus the misconception that their schedules are not flexible. They can sell their trips. I know that they can manipulate their schedules and drop trips via selling them. If you are junior and do red eyes, your trips won’t sell, but if you are doing daytime, 3 days or attractive trips, they will sell and you get time off.

Dang, I was hoping for better than that. As someone who came from one of the WOs, this past week has been rough.

It’s like an alcoholic saying “I know I’m a drunk, but I will continue to drink because if happy hour specials”.

I wasn’t concerned about what equipment they are on or where they were based day 1. My point is more so about this guy complaining how things are at Spirit. Yet he went to a place where I keep hearing they reschedule you like crazy and you have to call the hotel desk yourself. Even APA has put out a video how they’re sick and tired of it.
I just find it poetic he emails the pilot group that he is going to a place where work rules are even worse.
maybe his real reason was the money and he left under a pretext that it was the work rules.

On the plus side - Atleast I keep the points from all the hotels I’ve had to personally buy this year mid trip.

for one Captn reserve assignments here at spirit are 95 percent with zero reservations or transportation booked. Im sure Americans hotel desk doesn’t make pilots wait 4 hours for a hotel confirmation while standing in the lobby. Was reassigned last week no hotel and spent 2 hours on hold. Just ended up paying for a hotel myself yet again.

Rarely my experience. Might have a 30 minute hold for a room once in a blue moon. Some of the stories sure do get exaggerated and embellished.
