On the flip side seeing more and more 4 and 5 leg day trips with 10-11 hour overnights, high credit but also highly fatiguing. Real fun to operate into IAH and then get told to do a SAP turn too. People I beg, we need more 8 hour block days with international turns coming off short rest.

Everywhere but us and frontier has min calendar day. We are the only two dumps that still have “duty period”

But I thought people wanted the F9 merger because the QOL at spirit together with F9 would be better? I understand you can drop to 0, but if you eventually have to pick something up, would this be the garbage in the open time pot?

Not what I've seen. FOs are running for the door...the company wants to upset families and displace pilots by the hundreds out of their bases...and we're told we are already paid enough. The company wants to do day turns so they don't have to pay for hotels and per diem. They say the reasoning is to improve operational reliability....yet they don't simply invest in the required infrastructure to support the size of airline we've become. It's a daily S show out there and we on the front line have to deal with an overly frugal management team who expect us to bail them out when times are tough.
