I'm not entirely sure why anyone thinks attrition is a leverage tool for spirit pilots. If anything it's a leverage tool for spirit management. With training pay where it is and first year pay what it is, they couldn't be happier for people leaving. The more senior the better
The legacies pay 90+ an hour from day one, we pay 50whatever from day 91-365
If we were to absorb training pay into first year pay our actual rate is more like 46 dollars an hour. It's an embarrassment. Management HOPES people leave. Honestly.

The only ones with a huge vested interest in NK right now are the senior pilots and the big stock owners. And hopefully nobody is both because that is a potential single point of failure.

I’m not sure they do. Management has SOLD THE PLACE. They got theirs, out of the 1/2% of the equity they own and the golden parachutes they built into the deal for themselves. Right now they are busy buffing and polishing their own résumés and doing their own interviewing. Tha survival (or not) of NK at this point may not matter to them.

I would count on that. Management has leverage with the Frontier deal to keep things running while Franke decides who stays and who goes. Management did this before about 5 years ago, if I recall, increasing their compensation package if they were to be displaced (irony intended) from their positions. No doubt they will do the same here now, citing the instability of not knowing they will have positions when the merger is done. Maybe why we all got an email today acknowledging some people getting bumps to VP level.

Captain here and know a captain leaving. Came to NK for QOL and that seems to be eroding in more than a few ways, lately. We all have examples. But, these new pairings seem “greedy” even by NK standards. I’m bringing this up, here, because I’ve not heard much chatter since the last bid result. It’s becoming much more difficult for me to ignore the overall direction of the company. Never expected to say that. Morale seems low and I think we could use some good news from someone, somewhere. It’s become a real sh*tshow.

and what is a “greedy” pairing? Are they forcing you to fly and not get paid? I’m on the edge of my seat to hear what a greedy pairing is.
